Renaissance Award, Valley View Elementary School Team D, The team displayed outstanding skill in their performance, where every member played a well defined and convincing character. The team designed their skit as a classic mystery, incorporating a diamond burglary and help from the DIA (Detective Investigation Agency) as well as an unexpected plot twist. All elements were fully integrated in an exceptional and entertaining skit.
Renaissance Award, Lake Grove Elementary, OR. This team hit the nail on the head, stunning the Appraisers with their stage presence, engineering, teamwork and risk-taking. They TRANSCENDED the box in every aspect, embodying creativity in the fullest. And oh yeah…they are a team of two members. BRAVO!!
DaVinci Award, Emerals Heights Elementary, Washington. This team presented a humorous skit on a very serious topic: bullying. The characters literally embodied the team’s research and each personality corresponded to the type of cloud portrayed. Their IMPROVmobile, the “rain-o-matic,†enhanced the effect of the skit’s conflict, which involved the shifting emotions of performers.

Middle Level, 3rd Place Tie: Judkins Middle School, Pismo Beach, California.
Middle Level, 2nd Place: Lake Grove Elementary School, Lake Oswego, Oregon. DaVinci Award: This team impressed the Appraisers greatly with their multifunctional IMPROVmobile. The mobile not only transported them to the past, but became a backdrop, two elephants and a pair of shields. The mobile was both well engineered, artistic and extremely creative.
